Extreme Makeover: Mission Edition!

No, Ty Pennington won’t be there, but just like ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, we’ll be giving some deserving people a nice, clean place to live. Phoenix Rescue Mission and the residents who live there could use some sprucing up. So, we’re inviting you to come and Makeover the Mission this Saturday, October 25th, 2008 as part of Make A Difference Day. Created by USA Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event celebrating neighbors helping neighbors. USA Weekend will select 10 projects to be honored in their April 2009 edition and to receive donations from Newman’s Own.

This year Phoenix Rescue Mission is entering our Makeover the Mission project for the possibilty of being selected among one of those 10 projects. Here’s how you can get in on the action…

• Volunteer at the Shelter for various landscaping, painting and maintenance projects.
• Volunteer at the Family Outreach Center to sort, glean or distribute produce to local families.
• If you are a professional in the healthcare, vocational or personal service industries, volunteer to provide our residents with help they need to get back on their feet.
