New Family Outreach Donation Center Opens

August 10, 2009

Last month alone, Phoenix Rescue Mission distributed 4,197 emergency food boxes to working poor families from a waiting room designed to hold 20 people at a time.

We knew we had outgrown our location with more families coming to us in need, less space to serve them and very little storage left to house the food, clothing and baby supplies they needed.

That’s why we’re excited to open the doors to our new Family Outreach Donation Center today.

The new center allows us to handle the increased demand (as seen in our video) for emergency food boxes and serves as a donation center for canned goods, clothing and gently used items. We’re also happy to now have more than enough space for our Volunteers to pack food and sort clothing for our new on-site clothing closet.

If you have items you’ve outgrown or no longer need, please consider passing them along to someone who could use them. Canned goods are always needed and appreciated too. Contact Beth at bmebane@phoenixrescuemission.org or visit www.phoenixrescuemission.org for more information. You can find the new center at:
