Life Without Fear?

September 8, 2009

Imagine Your Life Without Fear

We live in a time where new anxieties come looking for you. I dare you to turn on the television or log on to your favorite news site without finding something new to worry about.

And yet, working at Phoenix Rescue Mission, I’ve met dozens of people who don’t know where their next meal will come from or whether they’ll have a bed for the night who have seem to have a sense of peace. I’ve talked to men graduating from our addiction recovery program who know without a doubt they will be okay once they leave to start their own lives. Why aren’t they afraid of what lies ahead?

I’ve come to believe the common thread in all their stories is trust in God.

Imagine Your Life Without Fear, our free book for September, explores what it would mean for all of us to live every day trusting God more and fearing less. In the book, Max Lucado writes,

“Fear will always knock on your door. Just don’t invite it in for dinner, and for heaven’s sake don’t offer it a bed for the night.  …  Fear may fill our world, but it doesn’t have to fill our hearts. The promise of Christ and the contention of this book are simple: we can fear less tomorrow than we do today.”
