Disney Day Givers Gave Big

An amazing 7,429 pounds of food was donated at the Mission for Give a Day. Get a Disney Day. over the weekend!

On Saturday, April 10th, Disney encouraged people to give back to their community for one day in exchange for a one day ticket to the park. For those participating at Phoenix Rescue Mission, this meant bringing a 20 pound food donation and volunteering to make emergency food boxes to feed local Phoenix families.

In total, folks brought 7,429 pounds of food and assembled over 800 food boxes for our food pantry. Each of these boxes has enough food to feed a family of four for three days to help make ends meet. All this food could not come at a better time for the Mission as we are facing a food crisis here in Arizona.
